A frame grab from a recent shoot with director Jason Hooper. The piece involved a bold, poetic visual style, particularly in the final scene, which was designed to suggest a fantastical, dream-like state. We developed this theme visually through close camerawork, pronounced lens flare, and a lighting scheme intended to create the feeling of safe intimacy sheltered from an overexposed environment.
The shoot went very well, thanks in no small part to the creative trust that Jason and I have built over the years. I also couldn’t have done it without the help of long-time collaborators Nate Miller (who operated camera) and gaffer Gary Breckel. I look forward to seeing the final piece.
